The Irwin Tools 1819358 Marples High Impact Chisel – 1-1/4-Inch is designed for durability. This chisel is designed for Prying, Rough Notching, Lap Joints, and Demolition. The blade is made of Solid-forged 100 Carve (chrome vanadium) Steel and is Hardened and Tempered for a sharper, long lasting cutting edge. The Blade is hardened to 1-Inch of the bolster to allow for continuous sharpening when needed without the loss of any blade strength or durability. The High Impact Chisel has a Fully Forged Steel Core for increased strength and durability and an Extra Large strike cap that withstands repetitive hammer strikes. This Chisel also has a ProTouch over-mold grip for comfort and control, two primary factors when using a chisel. The body of the handle is made of Splitproof Acetate for superior durability.
