Metabo HPT is the new brand name for Koki Holdings America – formerly part of the Hitachi group. In April 2017, Koki Holdings Co, Ltd (Metabo HPT parent company in Japan), partnered with KKR,  as they saw tremendous potential in the brands future and the future of power tools. Hitachi Power Tools subsequently transitioned to Metabo HPT in North America with the same tools only a new name.
